"On a recent Sunday morning just before dawn, two carloads of white teenagers drove to Jackson, Mississippi, on what the county district attorney says was a mission of hate: to find and hurt a black person."
I watched this video in ABSOLUTE HORROR...after seeing it posted on my boy Pony's page. I was in UTTER disbelief and shock. A black man was beaten to a pulp in Jackson,Mississippi in June. That's bad enough but what followed after that is INCOMPREHENSIBLE. After having been SAVAGELY beaten by a group of white teens...the ringleader jumps into a Ford truck and RUNS HIM OVER at close range. OMFG!!! Unbelievable.
Watch it for yourself. It is incomprehensible to me how a HUMAN BEING could ever treat another human being like this...but it's HERE to see.
I don't know what to say other than....
"We can live together as brothers...or PERISH together like FOOLS"
~~ Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
God help us all. Because what is apparent to me if not so to anyone else...this young man who did this...is 18. That indicates that he was born about 1993. 1993...Wow.
60 years years after Brown vs. The Board of Education...
30 years after the March On Washington...you would HOPE that the notion of tolerance would be something that all of us had grasped by now. And perhaps those of us who had not...would at the very least STOP teaching our children to hate. Hopefully. But CLEARLY that ain't the case.
Because CLEARLY had that been the case...James Craig Anderson...would be alive today.
The mere fact that he's not and the circumstances surrounding his apparent demise at the hands of CHILDREN basically...
tells me there are PEOPLE somewhere TEACHING their CHILDREN...HATRED. STILL.
You see children aren't BORN hating. Not racially. Maybe peas. Perhaps cole slaw. NOT people. Fuck. Will we ever get it? I'm not so sure some of us ever will.
We should be wary of what OUR children are taught... by anyone...but when
YOU the parent are the culprit...of something like this...well that speaks volumes about just WHO...and WHAT you are.
God will be the judge...in the end...no doubt..and I think it would be WISE...if you were prayed up if your son or daughter was a part of these heinous shennanigans...
because SURELY...your ass is gonna BURN IN HELL.
And rightfully so.
If you taught these CHILDREN to behave and carry on like this...you are the LOWEST form of life...imaginable. You should be ashamed.
But make no bones about it...you're gonna pay. So help me God...you're gonna pay.

I can't watch it. I would be distraught tonight.
ReplyDeleteMy heart hurts to even read this. God ain't pleased. Not at all. I pray for their souls honestly...the pool of hate that must replace a soul has to be dirty and in pain to do such things.
I totally understand Keys. Love you much. Thanks for commenting sweetie. Damn. That was horrific.
ReplyDeleteI blame these so called leaders who are bashing our president daily and showing the young people that it is okay to hate someone because of their color. The tea party was raised from the darkness of Mississippi to dredge up the ghosts of the past. That is why I believe that the election in Wisconsin today is so very important because it will show that we are going to take this country back from those who don't deserve to be our leaders! That's just my opinion....

ReplyDeleteI'm not so sure if you could place blame with anyone not directly responsible for raising the young men and women who took part in murdering Mr.Anderson though sis. To me...what took place could only come about as a result of not merely "bad" parenting...but "HORRIFIC" parenting. Fostering an environment where hatred of other ethnicities is "championed" produces results like what we've seen occur here. I think if we were to peer deeper..what would invariably be the root cause and the "catalyst" for such a thing to occur in the first place would be that these young people were taught to hate black people from a rather early age. That's so backwards to me. Hence the title of the blog..."Is this 1950 or 2011" because I would expect better of people. **sighs**
ReplyDeleteWho lives that way in 2011? Apparently someone.
It's been a long time since we collectively... have as a country...accepted the fact that we(Black people) are not only GOING TO BE HERE but are going to be here and be treated as equals by the majority. No?
Anyone not accepting of that fact at this late date is in major denial. Black people aren't going anywhere. We are here to stay. Are you going to somehow kill us all? I doubt it.
The more that things change, the more that things stay the same my brother.
